I have always been impressed by the diversity of people in NYC and now I am totally impressed by the diversity of riders in the city... Bike commuters, recreation, delivery, messenger, racer, bmx, and even mountain bikers. On Sunday over 30,000 cyclists will take on the NYC streets to bike the 5boro bike tour. Psyched to see it all happen!
I am so happy you have encouraged biking so much with the boyzz and have made it a big part of your lifeAdam Coppolahttp://www.giveabike.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7815175947009353879.post-74963337313647435042012-04-05T21:38:07.939-04:002012-04-05T21:38:07.939-04:00100% agreed. How about an incentive: you get paid $300 more per month on deployment if you complete language training. They'd have the program full before two years were up. Most of the veggies from my area are from Mexico. I pay more for American stuff- or do without if possible. I've been doing this for years when ever possible. (Over 20 years ago, I lived near the Canadian border. I had to go over there to buy American products!)
While you're saving America- save the earth, too. Buy items with less packaging and with packaging that can be recycled- glass, some plastic containers (not shrink wrap or that plastic wrap that prevents you from opening products), cardboard, etc.
It's amazing what a difference what a difference you can make when you put your mind (and your money!) to it!Mainernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7815175947009353879.post-57788458792191370022011-03-18T21:17:29.719-04:002011-03-18T21:17:29.719-04:00Hey bro,

I biked passed an enormous American flag the other day and it was such a source of pride, inspiration, and also a reminder of the sacrifices that have been made for my freedom to experience our country by bike. I'm camping out tonight at veterans memorial park in Georgia and I feel so proud to be American. I hope that I can honor the sacrifices of those young men and women by always being thankful for this beautiful country we live in, supporting wounded veterans, and thanking every veteran I meet, something I have done this year and plan to continue for the rest of my lifeAdam coppolanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7815175947009353879.post-86945976397971255832011-03-11T10:00:31.204-05:002011-03-11T10:00:31.204-05:00Thank you so much for posting this. We feel these losses - such painful losses - here in a way that we could never have anticipated prior to arriving. I am part of a small playgroup for our son and most of the women/moms are military and so young - and one of the husbands just deployed for a year. Our favorite pediatrician at the hospital just deployed for a year. It is all so frightening and real. Thank you for what you have done and continue to do, Chris. Our love to your whole family.
Jennifer RobinsonCurlymom & Dr.Dadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06759160580387012176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7815175947009353879.post-67852101012432344382011-03-06T18:50:10.880-05:002011-03-06T18:50:10.880-05:00DIY Health, thanks for dropping by. I agree, companies will get their goods produced in the cheapest labor markets possible, and often these markets have the lowest wages for workers and lax worker safety laws. If consumers in large groups alter their buying practices to increase demand for products produced in countries with strong labor laws, companies will follow.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13633134551913592699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7815175947009353879.post-9164518354599699182011-03-06T10:09:15.133-05:002011-03-06T10:09:15.133-05:00Really?
