  1. Dr Coppola I served in the NICU at WHMC with you 2004-2007. I want you to know what an honor it was. You are an outstanding surgeon, yet you still care so much. It is hard to find that mix. I am still a NICU nurse, but no longer in the military. I just ordered your book and cannot wait to read it. I served at the hospital in Balad from January-May of 2007. I worked in the wards. It was a life changing exp in every way. I want to wish you well with the book. Happy Holidays.

  2. Leann, Thank you so much for writing! It is such a pleasure to hear from you. Obviously, you know exactly what I'm talking about when I tell stories about Balad and taking care of the tiny babies in the NICU. Thank you so much for your service and personally for helping care for the children we received from Ft. Hood and elsewhere. Congratulations on your post-military landing. Wherever you are, they are lucky to have you!!

    Best wishes,

    Chris

  3. What a wonderful review. The saddest part is that I read that when it first came out and your name never sunk in! How did that manage to happen? *shakes head at self* I'm going to claim it was because I was still recovering from a really nasty stomach virus. Yeah. That's it. Otherwise I'd have been jumping up and down to read the review of someone I knew in the NYTimes... Congrats on the book...Now, to go find my own copy...
