As many of you know, since leaving the Air Force I work for Geisinger Health System. It is an incredible place with a great big team of friends and neighbors working together to improve the health of people in Pennsylvania's Susquehanna Valley. One of the things we work so hard at is beating cancer. People go beyond what they do at work. M and I have run in the Tata Trot for several years. But a really impressive and creative work is Geisinger's Pink Glove video, made by passionate volunteer effort. Please consider voting for us!
We have more and more people involved in our mission to create a scholarship in memory of Peter Gelinas, who died in the 9/11 attack on the World Trade center. However, we still need more help to make it to the goal of $25,000 necessary to create an endowment that would provide a yearly award to an incoming freshman.
Please consider spreading the word through face book by "liking" our scholarship cause page:
Meredith and I will run the Marine Corps Marathon this fall as part of Team Fisher House. We will be raising money to support the Fisher Houses, homes away from home for families of injured troops undergoing treatment at military medical centers.
Thank you for visiting. I am Chris Coppola, a pediatric surgeon. I was deployed to Iraq in 2005 and 2007 with the US Air Force. As a trauma surgeon at a combat support hospital in Balad, Iraq (42 miles north of Baghdad), I treated injured troops, detainees, civilians, and children. My experiences are published by NTI Upstream. Drop by here for updates and discussions about our troops and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
